Mark Knowles is the former Captain of the Australian Hockey Team, and viewed by many as the most accomplished player in Australian hockey history, playing over 350 games for the Kookaburras.
He is a four time Olympian, winning the gold medal in 2004. Added to this are 4 Commonweath Games gold medals, and in 2018 Mark was the Commonwealth Games Australian Flag Bearer.
In 2024 Mark led the Australian Olympic team to Paris as the Deputy Chef de Mission. Later that same year he was inducted in the Sport Australia Hall of Fame, in the same group as other iconic athletes including Mick Fanning, Sally Pearson and Mark Skaife.
